even in california, i'd have to agree, i think it's too late this year. it's kind of funny... when we drove with my parents to california last october... we picked up a pumpkin for munki since we were there around that time of year. the plan was to carve it and leave it at my grandmother's house. well, munki wanted to bring it back to ohio... so we carted this big ol' pumpkin back with us. (uncarved) and we saved the seeds from there. so we're growing california pumpkins in ohio =] right now we have 3 that are already volleyball sized and they're still very green... so it'll be interesting to see how big they get. i'll gladly send you some seeds... i know you can buy your own... but i'm going to send you some anyway. then you can grow your own next year =]
we started ours mid june (which is actually a bit late, i believe...)
I am pretty sure I'm too late this year but I would love to grow my own pumpkins. Did you grow your plants from seed? When did you plant them?
